COPD Stem Cell Therapy May Be In The Cards For The Future
COPD is a pulmonary disease that effects the lungs, pulmonary system, and in general your ability to breath. It is essentially a combination of arthritis, bronchitis, and emphysema, and is typically caused by smoking. While right now there are ways to keep the disease at bay but no real cure, through Copd stem cell therapy, this could change in the future. COPD stem cell therapy, would involve the use of stem cells, which are embryo cells, that can have their genetic makeup changed to be any type of cell. Essentially the idea is that through COPD stem cell therapy, you could grow back ones degenerated tissue, and completely regenerate the lungs and pulmonary system, or grow new lungs and have a transplant. These ideas are controversial because of the nature of stem cells, but the treatment may not be far off, giving COPD victims a second chance.
